My late great hate Raleigh You would take such useless folly Just to see where I am now, Fell in deep and can't get out. The house is choked with smoke And I'm beginning to lose hope And now the roof is caving in While those below revel in sin but I know, I believe, Believe in me. Couldn't you have found a better Time to send your nonsense letter? Can't decipher your mind games, Or why you took your brother's name. 'Cause meanwhile my mind's bloody, House on fire and kitchen flooding. It was my birthday and no one came, And now my roommates have gone insane, but I know, I believe, Believe in me.

Dark Places 02:43
She takes me places that I've never been. She takes me to the spaces in between. But one day she gets in the car and screams, "We could go to dark places." Dark places. Not sure that that's the way I wanna go. Not sure that that's the road I wanna hoe. I've got a few good years ahead of me, At least when I am speaking optimistically. Not sure I want to spend them going to see All of those dark places, Dark places. Something's in the air, wait for me. You're the only one who cares, wait for me. The light upon the future casts the shadows of tomorrow. I'll be coming home, wait for me. She can make me so unsure of myself, But I'm not sure I'd rather be anywhere else. And although I may never know her well, It's not terribly hard for me to tell It's good intentions on the road to hell. Stay away from dark places, Dark places, Dark places. She says, what'd you do to make the time go so slow? I tell her I'm not sure I wanna go All of those dark places, Dark places.

When the fire's died down and you would rather be alone, How am I supposed to reach you in your safety zone? This isn't isolated, no, it happens time after time. If I can endure it maybe one day you'll be mine. You say man is not designed to bend against his will. I say all that man's designed for is to fuck and kill. The answer hides in plain view, baby, doesn't come from above. In the midst of chaos, we can always find space for love. Close my eyes and I see bombs fall from out of the blue. Heaven help me put my arms around you. When the rain came down and mixed with the tears on your face, I thought, God, get me as far as you can from this place. In the specter of failure that haunts me every day, Deep inside my heart I can't help wondering if you'll be okay. You close your eyes and hear alarms. Will we never be free? Heaven help you put your arms around me. Because, while you're worn and ragged out there boots are on the ground. And I can't sleep with all these thoughts just tumbling around. There's not telling for me what the future has in store, But I know once you snap your fingers, the world is yours.

Emily 06:45
Emily, gate is locked. By the time we found the way in the way out was blocked, And Emily, all my tricks are off the cuff. No longer trying to push the boundaries of society, But too young to know the limits of anxiety, Oh, Emily, I never got enough. Emily, cars are frozen. Emily, doors are closing. Emily, the pictures say that you were there. Emily, voodoo candles. Emily, CB handles. Emily, I'm living life without a care. Emily, as we fill different shapes, We must never forget the fact that at our core we are apes, And Emily, might sound harsh but them's the breaks. You know I'm open to you and I want to believe. Hope there's a heaven for you, means there's a heaven for me, But Emily, would we have all that it takes? Emily, crowded skylines. Emily, cryptic bylines. Emily, which questions will you answer to? Emily, how'd you find this many consolation prizes? Emily, the answer lies somewhere in you. Emily, can't parse it out, But at least now I got something I can shout about. And Emily, think it's time for one more bout. Maybe it's just mutual insanity. Maybe love's a detour from reality. Come over, Emily, if ever you're in doubt. Emily, 'round the corner. Emily, on your honor. Emily, wish I could say I was surprised. Emily, tip of your tongue. Emily, life from your lungs. Emily, our lives will not be televised. It was dark on the day when we got here, and we'll leave it as dark on the day that we leave. Emily, doors are closing. Emily, cars are frozen. Emily, which questions will you answer to? Emily, how'd you find this many consolation prizes? Emily, the answer lies somewhere in you.

I've been slumming here for oh so many years. In my heart I know it's where I wanna be. Down by the ocean, I'll be falling to the bottom of the sea. They say you'll never understand the law of the land, But the law could never quite apply to me. Down by the ocean, I'll be falling to the bottom of the sea. In a hole down deep deep dark, Deep deep down is how I feel. Deep in the sea is where I lay For these deep dark unknown days. Although I live like half a man, adrift upon the sand, Should the world end this is where I wanna be. Down by the ocean, I'll be falling to the bottom of the sea.
